Scary isn’t it. I like J. Wilson in the closer role if needed, however, that would limit the amount of LH you would have for situations. I am sure Melancon would be given the opportunity to close and Hughes would be back up, which doesn’t excite me either.

Geez the radio guy after the game is already speculating career ending injury, for cryin’ out loud!

Seems like Grilli grimaced throughout the inning, I’m just guessing maybe he has a pulled muscle or something. His forearm takes a lot of heat all year from throwing those strikeout pitches. It doesnt mean his arm is finished. Geez o man!

You always want to hope for the best, but that looked about as bad as it could, especially with Greg Brown pointing out every detail.

Vic black will not be called up and installed as the 8th inning man. That role will go to someone Hurdle is already comfortable with and trusts, likely someone in the roster. I think Wilson and is 100 mph heater should get first crack. Don’t rule out Mazarro either. Hurdle loves vets and he’s got over 330 innings… More than Morris, Wilson, and Watson combined.

That said, I’d like to see Black get called up and get a chance, it’s just not going to be in the 8th.

Then Welker. Hurdle does not like to use new relief pitchers at all.

Maybe he just needs 2-3 weeks of rest.

Hughes doesn’t excite me as a replacement – how about Victor Black??
