Game Notes: Brandon Cumpton was originally scheduled to start tonight, but was pulled at the last minute. That could be to bring him up to Pittsburgh tomorrow as a starter, since Jeff Locke and Jeanmar Gomez can’t make the start. Brooks Brown took his place, and was hit hard for five runs in 2.1 innings. Alex Presley, Ivan De Jesus, Matt Hague, and Tony Sanchez all picked up multiple hits. De Jesus had a .316 average and an .829 OPS on the year prior to this game. Sanchez improved on the season to a .304 average and a .934 OPS in Triple-A.

Game Notes: John Kuchno has struggled in his last three starts, combining to give up 12 earned runs in 14 innings. Prior to that he had a 4.10 ERA in 37.1 innings over his previous seven starts, with a 31:9 K/BB ratio. Josh Bell picked up two doubles, giving him 23 on the year. Bell had an .810 OPS in May and an .808 OPS in June. Max Moroff has been hot lately, hitting for a .304/.429/.507 line in 69 at-bats in the month of June. He went 1-for-4 with a double tonight.

Game Notes: Jackson Lodge made his second start for Jamestown, filling in for the injured Chad Kuhl. Axel Diaz and Kevin Kleis each pitched two scoreless innings to complete the shutout. Michael Fransoso picked up his fifth stolen base of the year. He has a .366 average and is reaching base in over half of his plate appearances so far in Jamestown, but hasn’t hit for much power. Jin-De Jhang picked up two more hits, and is now 12-for-37 with three homers in ten games this year. He has a hit in nine of those ten games.
