Byrd plays for Mets, and not the Cubs. 2. I would give Morton for a six pack of beer – and including Snider or Presley, along with maybe Hughes – I think that’s a pretty low price to get a guy who’s having the season like Byrd. The Mets are not going to give him away – and I’d much rather give them 3 low value spare parts than actual prospects.

Tabata meanwhile is doing well against righties and is just okay against lefties. The Pirates need someone who can hit well against left handed pitchers.

They have been using him everywhere, he’s played 6 different positions this year. I think he could make the majors eventually as a bench player due to his versatility. He has good speed, plays the game right and can hit a little. I wouldn’t call him a prospect really, but I like what he brings to the table, so I could see him getting a cup of coffee, maybe sticking around a couple years for someone who likes the fact he can play multiple positions(shortstop being one of them helps too)

I thought he was an infielder?

He has raised his average up substantially, but does not appear to have much power. Kind of reminded me of a slightly bigger Brock Holt type of player.

That was probably 8-10 years ago? Anyone remember the details?

I would plan my trips back home to Bedford around Altoona games while he was there.
