The period is the length of the short-season leagues. So if any adjustments are made, they probably won’t come until the fall instructional leagues.

I have to pick a nit with you.
-
” as he has been striking out around 40% of the time on the season”
-
Would it not be more accurate to say around 40% since being promoted because I think that figure is for his time in Bradenton only and most of his season was in WVa at a somewhat better %? He strikes out enough, I wouldn’t want it to be exaggerated and have Huntington actually cut him when Heckler points it out with his usual flair :-)

Any word on if the Pirates have tried to “fix” whatever was supposedly wrong with Jones swing or are they just letting JaCoby be JaCoby for now?

I wouldn’t want to be a young pitcher facing this lineup.

The only exception would be:

1. GCL guys usually move up at the end of the year because their season ends earlier
2. If West Virginia makes the playoffs and Jamestown doesn’t, you might see guys moving up to play in WV.

Other than that, next year is when people will make the jumps. I could see Jones in high-A if he continues hitting like this. It’s definitely a move they’ve made in the past.

Thx
