In any event, if Heredia had been born in the U.S., he might have just graduated from high school. As it is, he is further along than virtually any pitcher his age. Taillon was almost a full year older than Heredia is now before he even threw his FIRST professional pitch. As it is, Heredia is doing at least as well at West Virginia at 18 as Taillon did at 19.

Anyways the entire rotation at West Virginia looks good. Glasnow, Heredia, Holmes, Kuchno, Creasy and Haynes. They really don’t have much blocking them in the next level up so I’d anticipate seeing a few of those guys finishing next season in Altoona.

That poor guy!

He is still one of the youngest players in the system, except for the DSL guys.

Yet, he’s only in Single A. He’s still several years away. He has the mixed results that are commonplace with every prospect pitcher, including Cole and Taillion.

Am I excited about his showing in WVA? No. Am I hopeful? Yes. Am I patient? Yes. Also, there are seemingly several more options since early 2012, when Heredia was nearly always mentioned with Cole and Tailiion. Now there’s Pimentel, Tyler Glasnow and Nick Kingham.

Ahhh, the problem of having too much of a good thing!

The pre-game radio guys broke this last night around 9pm and Greg Brown did not deny the rumor. Speculation was that Marte’s hand is hurt worse than they originally thought and he needs a lot more time to heal. They can still do a retroactive DL and have him back in less than 15 days, long as the hand is not hurt any worse.

You guys really have nothing on this?
