It is his batting stance/swing(which has a lot of movement) and pitch selection that is keeping him from really hitting the ball well, but 33 doubles is still impressive

If you compare what he is doing to Harold Ramirez, then it looks bad, but Ramirez was the higher rated player and his stats last year were hurt by his injury issues

I read a less than stellar review from one scout about Bell’s lack of bat speed. I understand it’s one scout, but that’s never good to hear about one of your top prospects.

It’s way too early to make blanket judgments on a player in his first full year of baseball. Hoping for the best!

Does that old axiom “doubles become HRs” still hold true?

True Foo

Also wondering if Glasnow is gonna get ‘bumped’ up a level.

Is he having injury issues?

Wyatt Mathisen looked great in the spring but struggled big-time in West Virginia due to injuries. I’m wondering if the same things are going on with Escobar.

Rather interesting since he didn’t hit as many home runs during his senior year as expected.

Pirates are developing a nice mix of pitchers and hitters now compared to a couple of years ago.

Looking at the performances so far, I suspect a fair number of Pirate prospects will make BA’s top 20 prospects in each league at the end of the year.
