Pirates Getting National TV Time in 2014

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced four home game time changes to accommodate National Television. The games are as follows:

Monday, March 31 (Opening Day) – Game moved from 1:35 PM to 1:05 PM for an ESPN national telecast.

Sunday, May 11 – Game against the Cardinals moves from 1:35 PM to 8:05 PM as ESPN’s exclusive National Sunday Night Baseball telecast.

Saturday, May 24 – Game against the Nationals moves from 4:05 PM to 7:15 PM for an exclusive FOX national telecast.

Saturday, August 30 – Game against the Reds moves from 7:05 PM to 4:05 PM for a national telecast on Fox Sports 1.

The August 30th game was originally a Skyblast concert with Gavin DeGraw. It will now be a “FanJams” game, with a later fireworks night to be announced. I assume “FanJams” means “concert with no fireworks”.

ROOT Sports will also carry Opening Day and the August 30th game.
