Chris Dickerson leaves with hamstring injury

Published:

Chris Dickerson left the game in Indianapolis after just one at bat Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

Dickerson has been the second best hitter in the International League this season to teammate Gregory Polanco. He has hit .329 with 18 extra base hits this season. He has also stolen nine bases and played solid defense, earning him some looks for a possible addition to the 40-man roster and call up to Pittsburgh.

Dickerson has reached base in 36 of his 38 starts this season, including Wednesday. He also had a 16-game hit streak broken on May 19.

Dickerson told me Tuesday that the hamstring has been a nagging issues this season.

If the injury is of any severity, he could join Andrew Lambo on the Indianapolis DL.

The extent of the injury is unknown but updates will be posted as they come in.
