Minor League Schedule: Tyler Glasnow Looks to Continue Impressive Stretch

Eight games on the schedule, including Tyler Glasnow on the mound for Bradenton. In his last seven starts combined, he has allowed three earned runs. Jamestown has off today. Bristol had their Sunday game suspended in the first inning. They will finish that game today, then play the regularly scheduled game afterwards. Check out the Prospect Watch from last night. Jake Brigham will make his 13th start of the season tonight. He has also pitched once in relief. Brigham has thrown 71.1 innings, giving up 58 hits, five homers and 24 walks. He has 61 strikeouts, an 0.76 GO/AO ratio and .219 BAA. In his last start, he went five innings and allowed three runs on two hits, both of which were homers. Brigham faced Toledo on 4/25, allowing five runs(two earned) on eight hits and two walks in six innings.

Joan Montero will make his fourth start of the season today. He has also pitched 20 times in relief. Montero has thrown 43.1 innings, surrendering 56 hits, no homers and 23 walks. He has 21 strikeouts, a 1.20 GO/AO ratio and a .315 BAA. In his last start, Montero allowed three runs on six hits and two walks, with no strikeouts in five innings.

Tyler Glasnow will make his 12th start of the season tonight. He has pitched 55.2 innings, allowing 27 hits, no homers and 32 walks. He has 61 strikeouts, an 0.85 GO/AO ratio and a .148 BAA. In his last start, he allowed one run over seven innings. In his previous four starts combined, Glasnow threw 21.2 shutout innings, giving up just eight hits. He has a 1.26 ERA in six road starts. Right-handed batters are hitting .118 against him. He has an 0.39 ERA in June

Cody Dickson will make his 16th start. He has pitched 70.1 innings, allowing 84 hits, eight homers and 31 walks. He has 54 strikeouts, a 1.03 GO/AO ratio and a .301 BAA. In his last start, Dickson went 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks. He faced Lakewood last week, allowing one run on six hits and no walks over six innings. Dickson has a 5.84 ERA in five June starts.

Omar Basulto will make his third start of the season tonight. He went five innings in his debut, allowing one run on five hits and one walk. In his last start, he pitched a gem. John Dreker
John started working at Pirates Prospects in 2009, but his connection to the Pittsburgh Pirates started exactly 100 years earlier when Dots Miller debuted for the 1909 World Series champions. John was born in Kearny, NJ, two blocks from the house where Dots Miller grew up. From that hometown hero connection came a love of Pirates history, as well as the sport of baseball. When he didn't make it as a lefty pitcher with an 80+ MPH fastball and a slider that needed work, John turned to covering the game, eventually focusing in on the prospects side, where his interest was pushed by the big league team being below .500 for so long. John has covered the minors in some form since the 2002 season, and leads the draft and international coverage on Pirates Prospects. He writes daily on Pittsburgh Baseball History, when he's not covering the entire system daily throughout the entire year on Pirates Prospects.
