Padres Not Dealing Ian Kennedy or Joaquin Benoit

Ken Rosenthal just tweeted that the San Diego Padres won’t be dealing pitchers Ian Kennedy or Joaquin Benoit, both of whom were mentioned as possibilities for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In fact they have some of the same relatives in common, so it was only natural for him to become a lifelong Pirates fan.     I’m glad about that. Kennedy had shoulder issues anyway, but after the Price trade apparently he could be had for a DSL 2nd string catcher and a single A bench coach…. ok too far. What Cumpton and Lambo… not far off from Smyly and Franklin.
