Minor Moves: Adam Frazier Activated From DL, Lincoln and Wall Added to Indy Roster

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates have made a handful of moves in the minors today. The big move is that shortstop Adam Frazier has been activated from the disabled list and added to the Altoona roster. He has missed the beginning of the season with a hand injury that occurred during Spring Training. Frazier spent all of last season in Bradenton and will likely take over full-time at shortstop for the Curve.

Earlier in the day we announced the promotion of Steve Lombardozzi to the Pirates, replacing Andrew Lambo, who was placed on the disabled list. Andy Vasquez makes the move from Altoona to Indianapolis to take the roster spot of Lombardozzi.

Yesterday, Indianapolis added Josh Wall to the active roster and sent Brad Lincoln to the West Virginia Black Bears(Morgantown). It was just a paper move for Lincoln, who never left. After Charlie Leesman was forced into long relief last night, throwing 97 pitches, he switched spots with Lincoln on the active roster. Leesman won’t be able to pitch for five days, at which point another move will likely be made. Wall made his season debut in last night’s game.

John started working at Pirates Prospects in 2009, but his connection to the Pittsburgh Pirates started exactly 100 years earlier when Dots Miller debuted for the 1909 World Series champions. John was born in Kearny, NJ, two blocks from the house where Dots Miller grew up. From that hometown hero connection came a love of Pirates history, as well as the sport of baseball. When he didn't make it as a lefty pitcher with an 80+ MPH fastball and a slider that needed work, John turned to covering the game, eventually focusing in on the prospects side, where his interest was pushed by the big league team being below .500 for so long. John has covered the minors in some form since the 2002 season, and leads the draft and international coverage on Pirates Prospects. He writes daily on Pittsburgh Baseball History, when he's not covering the entire system daily throughout the entire year on Pirates Prospects.
