Minor Moves: Joe Added to Power Roster, Richard to Indianapolis

Published:

There have been a few minor league moves for the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday afternoon.

Connor Joe has been officially added to the West Virginia Power roster. To make room for him, Trace Tam Sing has been assigned to WV Black Bears(Morgantown). Today will be the pro debut for the Pirates second pick(39th overall) in the 2014 draft.

Bradenton made four moves to add two pitchers to their roster. Yesterday we heard that nothing has been decided for Clayton Richard after he pitched brilliantly in his debut on Thursday for Bradenton. Also yesterday, the Pirates acquired pitcher Jayson Aquino and he has now been added to the Bradenton roster. With that move, Aquino took the place of Richard, who has been assigned to Indianapolis. No word on when he is scheduled to pitch next.

Bradenton also sent struggling reliever Ryan Hafner to Extended Spring Training(EST) and added Felipe Gonzalez back to the roster. Gonzalez was assigned to EST after he made his last start. That move opened up a spot for Richard to be added.

Finally, Charlie Leesman has been added to the Indianapolis roster and he will start tonight. He was assigned to Morgantown after throwing 97 pitches in relief last week. It was just a paper move, as Leesman was still with the team, but unavailable to pitch due to his high pitch count.
