Josh Bell and Elias Diaz to Represent Pirates at Futures Game

MLB has announced the rosters for the Futures Game, to be held during All-Star weekend in Cincinnati this year. The Pittsburgh Pirates will be represented by first baseman Josh Bell and catcher Elias Diaz. Bell will play for the U.S. team, while Diaz is on the World roster. Last year, Bell was the only player from the Pirates in the game.

Bell is hitting .318/.390/.438 this year in 66 games for Altoona. He is second in the Eastern League in batting average and tied for ninth in OPS.

Diaz is batting .281/.344/.393 in 57 games and he has throwing out 29% of base runners(9-for-31).

The game will be played on Sunday, July 12th.
