The Pittsburgh Pirates needed a pitcher today in Milwaukee. Vance Worley made the start yesterday after Francisco Liriano was scratched with a neck injury. After Worley was bounced early, the Pirates needed multiple innings from Deolis Guerra and Antonio Bastardo. The result is that their bullpen is depleted. They solved that issue by calling up Wilfredo Boscan, and placing Gorkys Hernandez on the disabled list. Dan Zangrilli was the first to report the news, and the Pirates just confirmed it with a press release.
Source says Bucs will bring up Boscan for some pitching help. Gorkys to DL, not AAA

Hernandez goes to the DL with left shoulder discomfort, retroactive July 13th. That move allowed Boscan to return to the majors within ten days of being optioned to Triple-A, after being sent down last Monday. This is the third time that Boscan has been called to the majors this year as bullpen depth, although he has yet to make his MLB debut.
