Pirates Activate Gregory Polanco from Disabled List; Recall Dovydas Neverauskas

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates made a couple of roster moves before Wednesday’s night game against the Cincinnati Reds. Gregory Polanco has been activated from the disabled list. Jordan Luplow was optioned to Indianapolis to make room on the roster.

Wade LeBlanc was placed on the Bereavement List. The Pirates recalled reliever Dovydas Neverauskas to take his place. This is the third stint in Pittsburgh for Neverauskas, with the previous two also being brief recalls, as this one is expected to be as well. He has pitched a total of five innings over three appearances with the Pirates.

Luplow went 0-for-9 with a walk in his first stint with the Pirates. He was called up on Friday and played four games, getting two starts. Polanco was placed on the disabled list on July 22nd with a left hamstring strain.
