Luis Escobar Highlights Today’s Photos and Videos From Pirates Spring Training

BRADENTON, Fla. – The early part of Spring Training is filled with bullpen sessions that highlight the day, since hitters aren’t in camp, and pitchers aren’t to the point of throwing off the actual mound. The Pirates have four groups of eight pitchers each, with two groups throwing bullpens each day. There were several interesting guys to watch today from a prospect standpoint, but the guy who stood out the most was Luis Escobar. I got some video of him, which can be viewed below.

Escobar should be in the Bradenton rotation all year, which means I’ll have plenty of opportunities to discuss his progress throughout the year. I’ll probably have something on him later in the spring, since there wouldn’t be any big updates from our last article on him, at least not until seeing what he does in actual games this spring.
