Minor Moves: Pirates Release Robby Rowland

The Pittsburgh Pirates have released right-handed pitcher Robby Rowland. Outfielder Jeff Roy was activated from the disabled list and took Rowland’s place on the West Virginia Power roster. Rowland started the year in the bullpen for Bradenton, posting a 6.05 ERA in 38.2 innings. He was recently demoted to West Virginia, where he struggled in six appearances.
