Pirates trade Jonathan Van Every to Red Sox

The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded outfielder Jonathan Van Every to the Boston Red Sox, according to Rob Biertempfel.  Van Every was acquired by the Pirates last year after being released by the Red Sox.  In 35 at-bats in Indianapolis this year, he put up a .314/.368/.543 line, with two homers.  Van Every is 30 years old, so he’s not really a prospect, but he could have made a decent bench player, with a chance to...

Earlier today it looked like Kevin Hart would be the starting pitcher tomorrow for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
