John Raynor returned to the Marlins

Today the Pittsburgh Pirates returned 2010 Rule 5 draft selection John Raynor to the Florida Marlins.  Raynor was designated for assignment last week in order to make room for extra pitching help.  He only saw 11 plate appearances with the Pirates, hitting for a .200/.273/.200 line, with his two hits being singles. Pirates call up Pearce, Donnelly to the DL

The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially called up Steve Pearce, and have placed Brendan Donnelly on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.  Donnelly’s move was retroactive to April 28th, the day after he last pitched.  He will be eligible to come off the disabled list on May 13th.
