The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted RHP Shane Carle in the tenth round of the MLB draft. Carle is another sinkerball pitcher who throws 92-94 MPH. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted RHP Chad Kuhl in the ninth round of the MLB draft. Kuhl is a sinkerball pitcher who throws an average curve and changeup. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted RHP Neil Kozikowski from Avon Old Farms School in the eighth round of the MLB draft. Kozikowski is a 6′ 4″, 180 pound RHP with a commitment to VCU. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted UNLV RHP Buddy Borden in the seventh round of the MLB draft. Borden is 6′ 3″, 210 pounds, and had a 2.59 ERA in 100.2 innings this year, with a 77:35 K/BB ratio. That was a big improvement over last year, when he had a 4.94 ERA in 54.2 innings, with a 63:34 K/BB ratio.
