Andrew McCutchen Back in the Lineup Tonight After Leaving Early Last Night

Last night Andrew McCutchen left in the bottom of the eighth inning with discomfort in his left ankle. He seemed to be walking fine on the ankle after lining out to end the top of the eighth inning. Tonight, McCutchen is back in the lineup, batting third and playing center field as usual. So it appears that it wasn’t anything major last night, which despite McCutchen’s early season struggles, is a great sign.

Andrew McCutchen Leaves Game With Discomfort in His Left Ankle

Andrew McCutchen left tonight’s Pittsburgh Pirates game in the eighth inning due to left ankle discomfort, the team announced. McCutchen ended the top of the eighth inning by lining out to third base, then walked off the field and was replaced defensively in the bottom of the eighth inning. No word yet on the situation.
