Pirates sign Wilfredo Ledezma and international free agents

The Pittsburgh Pirates signed left handed pitcher Wilfredo Ledezma to a minor league contract today.  Ledezma, who turns 29 in January, has spent parts of seven seasons in the majors, with a career 5.17 ERA, a 6.2 K/9 ratio, and a 4.4 BB/9 ratio.  Ledezma isn’t much of a LOOGY, with a career .292 BAA versus left handers in the majors, compared to a .274 BAA versus right handers. The Final Word on Sano

On Tuesday I wrote that the Pirates got a raw deal on Miguel Angel Sano. Since that time, two important articles have come out, revealing a lot on the negotiations. The first article was by Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The offer was made the first day of the...

Miguel Angel Sano Partially Cleared

UPDATE 2:18 PM: For clarification, the investigation is completed, just not announced. The “partially cleared” status still stands, as his identity is confirmed, but his age is “undetermined”. Jorge Arangure warns of the “identity confirmed, but age undetermined” status via Twitter, linking to this article back in March. Dejan Kovacevic posted earlier today that Miguel Angel Sano, aka “Hanley...
