<strong>Yesterday&#8217;s Result</strong>: Indianapolis was off yesterday</p>
<p>Brandon Cumpton will make his seventh start for Indianapolis tonight. He has also pitched once in relief and he made two early season starts for Altoona. On the year, he has pitched a total of 51 innings, allowing 43 hits, two homers and 20 walks. Cumpton has 43 strikeouts, a 2.66 GO/AO ratio and a .225 BAA. In his last start, he went six innings, allowing just two hits and one unearned run. He hasn&#8217;t allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts. Cumpton is dominating right-handed batters since joining Indianapolis, holding them to a .194 average, with a 3.88 GO/AO ratio and twenty strikeouts in 72 AB&#8217;s.</p>

<p>Casey Sadler will make his tenth start of the season this morning. He has gone at least seven innings in six of his last seven starts. He has had much more success on the road this year, going 4-0, 0.67 in four starts, with a .189 BAA in 27 innings. Sadler also pitched well in his only day game, allowing one run over seven innings. In 58 total innings, he has 30 strikeouts, a 2.15 GO/AO ratio and a .249 BAA.</p>

<p>Adrian Sampson will get his eighth start of the season tonight. He has also pitched once in relief. Sampson has pitched a total of 36.1 innings, allowing 53 hits, seven homers, ten walks and he has struck out 20 batters. In his last start, he gave up 11 hits and seven runs over four innings against St Lucie. At home this year, Sampson is 0-1, 7.77 in 22 innings over five starts, with a .375 BAA. Right-handed batters are hitting .363 against him.</p>

<p>Tyler Glasnow will make his ninth start of the season tonight. He has had a remarkable run this year, allowing 14 hits all season and two or less hits in six of his starts. He is holding right-handed batters to a .137 BAA, though he has been even better against lefties. In 41 AB&#8217;s, they are hitting .098, with 20 strikeouts. He has also had an amazing stretch for strikeouts recently. He has 50 K&#8217;s on the year in 34 innings, which is great, but in his last four starts, Glasnow has 34 in 19 innings. At home this season, he is 1-0, 1.50 in four starts, with 27 strikeouts in 18 innings.</p>

<p>Indianapolis is off today. When they resume play on Thursday, they will finish up their current road trip with four games in Buffalo. Last week, Indianapolis won two of three against Buffalo at home. The Indians have a 3.5 game lead in their division and they also have the best record in the entire International League. They are 12-10 on the road, 20-5 at home. Indianapolis has gone 6-4 in their last ten games.</p>

<p>David Bromberg will get his fifth start of the season tonight. He has also pitched four times in relief. As a starter, he is 1-3, 4.29 in 21 innings. He has a .308 BAA as a starter, .222 when he pitches in relief. Bromberg threw five scoreless innings in his last outing, a relief appearance on 5/16 against Trenton. On the road, he is 0-2, 7.00 in two relief appearances and one start.</p>

<p>Zack Dodson will make his fourth start of the season tonight. In his opener, he went five innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits and two walks. In his second outing, he gave up two runs on six hits in six innings. Dodson pitched even better in his last start, allowing one run over 6.2 innings. He has allowed a home run in all three starts. In 17.2 innings, he has 11 strikeouts, a 1.53 GO/AO ratio and a .206 BAA.</p>

<p>Clay Holmes will make his ninth start of the season today. He is coming off what was possibly his best start of the season, one-hit ball over five innings of work. Prior to that, he was on the disabled list with a minor ankle injury that pushed his start back four days. Holmes has pitched on the road only twice this season, giving up three runs over five innings on 4/26 and 11 days earlier, he threw 5.1 scoreless innings. He has a 1.96 GO/AO ratio and a .254 BAA.</p>

<p>Andy Oliver will get his tenth start of the season tonight. He has been hard to hit this year, but has also displayed poor command, especially recently. He does have some impressive stats, including a .185 BAA and a 1.12 GO/AO ratio, with 54 strikeouts in 48.1 innings. The bad news is 35 walks, with two games in a row in which he has walked six batters. Oliver is third in the International League in strikeouts and has a healthy lead in base on balls, a stat which he led the IL in last season and finished second in during the 2011 season. He is 2-0, 2.76 in three road games, striking out 23 batters in 16.1 innings.</p>

<p>Charlie Morton will make his fourth rehab start for Altoona tonight. He has also made starts for Bradenton and Indianapolis. At Altoona, he has pitched a total of 14 innings, giving up just six hits and four walks. In his last outing, he went four innings, allowing two runs on two hits, both solo homers. He threw 61 pitches on the night, 40 went for strikes. In 20 total innings this year, Morton has a .132 BAA, 1.72 GO/AO ratio and 11 strikeouts.</p>

<p>Robby Rowland will get his ninth start of the year tonight. He has thrown a total of 39.2 innings, giving up 41 hits, four homers and ten walks. He has 22 strikeouts, a 1.43 GO/AO ratio and a .268 BAA. At home, Rowland is 0-1, 4.22 in two starts. He has a huge split against LH and RH batters, holding righties to a .198 average, while lefties are hitting .371 with three homers. In his last four starts combined, Rowland has picked up just seven strikeouts.</p>

<p>Orlando Castro will make his ninth start of the season tonight. He has displayed excellent control this year while putting up strong strikeout totals. In 44.2 innings, Castro has allowed 38 hits, four homers, four walks and he has 40 strikeouts. His last start was his worst of the season, giving up four runs in 4.2 innings. He walked two batters and served up two homers, doubling his season total in both categories. Castro has made five starts on the road already, going 2-1, 2.30 in 27.1 innings.</p>

Light day on the schedule for prospects as three veteran pitchers take the mound, but down for West Virginia, 21-year-old lefty Joely Rodriguez has been pitching well of late. He has an ERA of 1.00 in May, with a 2/16 BB/K ratio in 18 innings. Despite the one-sided loss yesterday, Indianapolis still has the best record in the International League. In the month of April, he was 2-0, 0.30 in five starts. His May ERA is 7.71 in three games. In 46 innings, he has given up 40 hits, three homers,  22 walks and 37 strikeouts.</p>

<p>Gerrit Cole will make his ninth start of the season today. He started the year off slow with high pitch count problems, but recently he has been much more efficient, working at least six innings in each of his last four starts. He has pitched better on the road this year, going 1-0, 1.86 in 19.1 innings over three starts. Cole has a 1.42 GO/AO ratio and a .204 BAA. Right-handed batters have had a lot of trouble against him, hitting .134 in 67 AB&#8217;s. He has had an odd season long strikeout pattern going, picking up either two or five strikeouts in all eight starts this year.</p>

<p>Jameson Taillon will get his ninth start of the season today. He threw six shutout innings in his last start, the third time this year he didn&#8217;t allow a run in his start. Two of those shutout starts were against today&#8217;s opponent, Richmond. He also faced them a third time in Richmond and didn&#8217;t have similar success, allowing five runs in six innings. In 44.2 innings this season, he has given up 39 hits, one homer, 16 walks and he has 47 strikeouts. Taillon has a 1.21 GO/AO ratio and a .229 BAA. On the road this year, he is 1-1, 4.50 in three games. At home, he has a 2.05 ERA.</p>

<p>Nick Kingham will make his ninth start of the year this afternoon. He is coming off his worst start of the season. On Tuesday, he recorded just two outs before being replaced, giving up four runs on three hits and two walks. Prior to that game he had won four straight starts, including a 13 strikeout performance on 4/28 against Brevard County. He has 49 strikeouts this year in 40.1 innings, the second highest total in the FSL, training Nick Hernandez of Clearwater by one. Kingham has walked only nine batters all season, and not more than two in any game.</p>

<p>Jake Burnette will make his second start of the season today. In his season opener six days ago, he went 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits(one homer) and three walks. He struck out seven batters. Burnette pitched five games for State College last year before being shutdown due to elbow soreness. He went 1-2, 4.71 in 22 innings and recorded eight strikeouts, just one more than he had in his season debut this year.</p>

He faced St Lucie on 4/25, going 4.2 innings, with one run, three hits and three walks. At home this year, he is 0-0, 6.00 in four starts. Sampsons has an 0.89 GO/AO ratio and a .321 BAA.</p>

<p>Tyler Glasnow will make his eighth start of the season tonight. He has pitched 30 innings, giving up just 13 hits and no homers, although he has walked 19 batters. Glasnow has 42 strikeouts, including 26 in his last 15 innings. Batters are hitting just .129 against him and lefties are only hitting .108 with 17 strikeouts in 37 AB&#8217;s. He leads West Virginia in strikeouts and ranks seventh in the entire South Atlantic League. His season high in hits allowed in a game is four, though it should be noted that it was also the only game in which he didn&#8217;t walk any batters. John Kuchno makes his eighth start. In his first two starts combined, he gave up 13 runs. Since then, he has allowed just five runs in 25 innings. He faced Lexington in his last start, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks in 5.1 innings.</p>

<strong>Yesterday&#8217;s Result</strong>: West Virginia was rained out</p>
<p>Clay Holmes returned from the DL yesterday and will make his eighth start of the season tonight. He has pitched a total of 31 innings, allowing 33 hits, 25 walks, three homers and he has 17 strikeouts, with a 2.04 GO/AO ratio and a .277 BAA.  At home, he is 0-2, 7.84 in five starts. In his last start, he went four innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks. He was out for eight days, after suffering a minor ankle injury.</p>

<p>Andy Oliver will make his ninth start of the season today. He currently sits second in the International League with 50 strikeouts, one behind the leader, but he also leads the league with 29 walks. Oliver has been nearly unhittable this year at times, giving up three hits or less in five of his starts. Batters are hitting .185 against him, just .161 from the left-hand side. In his last outing, he gave up one run on three hits over five innings. His day was cut short though due to a season high six walks, which led to a high pitch count. Oliver is 1-1, 2.67 in five home starts this year.</p>

<p>Charlies Morton will get his fifth rehab start today, his third for Altoona. He initially made one start for Bradenton, giving up two runs over three innings. Morton then moved up to Altoona, where he started twice, allowing one run in ten total innings of work. In his start for Indianapolis on May 3rd, he threw three no-hit innings, allowing one unearned run, while walking two batters. In 16 total innings, he is holding batters to a .130 average, while walking five and striking out ten.</p>

<p>Robby Rowland will make his eighth start of the season tonight. He has pitched a total of 34.2 innings, allowing 35 hits, three homers, ten walks and he has 19 strikeouts. Rowland has a .263 BAA and a 1.63 GO/AO ratio. He has had a tough time with the strikeouts recently, picking up just four in his last three starts combined. Five of his starts have come on the road, where is a combined 2-0, 4.13 in 24 innings. Left-handed batters are hitting .364 against him, righties are batting just .192 with no homers.</p>

<p>Clay Holmes returned from the DL today and will make his eighth start of the season tonight. He pitched eight scoreless innings over his first two starts, then in his last start  five days ago, he allowed three runs in four innings. Brown is holding batters to a .200 average and he has a 1.43 GO/AO ratio.</p>

He has 35 strikeouts, a 0.95 GO/AO ratio and a .205 BAA. Pimentel allowed six runs over 4.1 innings in his last outing. In his six previous starts combined, he gave up just three earned runs. He had an 0.30 April ERA and was selected as our April <a href="http://www.piratesprospects.com/2013/05/stolmy-pimentel-is-the-pirates-prospects-pitcher-of-the-month-for-april.html">Pirates Pitcher of the Month</a>.</p>

<p>Eliecer Navarro will make his seventh start of the season today. He also pitched once in relief early in the year. Despite not allowing more than three earned runs in any game this season, Navarro has still yet to pick up a victory and he leads all Pirates minor leaguers with those six losses. In his last outing, he went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits, while picking up six strikeouts. In 35.1 innings this season, Navarro has walked seven and struck out 33 batters.</p>

<p>Orlando Castro will make his eighth start of the season today. He has pitched in some bad luck this year, giving up seven earned runs in seven starts, but has still been changed with three losses and a no-decision. Castro has pitched a total of 40 innings, allowing 31 hits, two homers, two walks and he has 35 strikeouts. He also has a 1.38 GO/AO ratio and a .221 BAA. In his last start, Castro went seven innings for the first time, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk. Left-handed batters are hitting surprisingly well of the lefty, batting .320 this year. He is 1-2, 1.19 in four road starts.</p>
