The Pirates have announced they claimed catcher Matt Pagnozzi off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. Drew Maggi Promoted to Bradenton

The Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted shortstop Drew Maggi from the West Virginia Power to the Bradenton Marauders.  The move comes at the end of the season, right when Bradenton will be moving to the Florida State League playoffs.  Maggi is hitting for a .267/.361/.357 line this year, with 32 stolen bases.  He has a .287/.378/.389 line in the second half of the South Atlantic League season this year. Pirates Recall Jaramillo, Call Up Brian Burres

The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled catcher Jason Jaramillo, and have purchased the contract of left handed pitcher Brian Burres, according to a team press release.  Burres is expected to start for the Pirates on Friday against the Chicago Cubs.  There was an open spot on the 40-man roster, and Burres will fill that spot.
