Minor League Moves: Lambo, Trinidad

Pirates Re-Acquire Josh Rodriguez

The Pittsburgh Pirates have re-acquired shortstop Josh Rodriguez from the Cleveland Indians, in exchange for cash considerations.  Rodriguez was drafted in the 2010 Rule 5 draft by the Pirates, and was designated for assignment back in April after going 1-for-12 at the plate.  Part of the reason he was designated for assignment was that the Pirates claimed Brandon Wood off of waivers.  Rodriguez went on to hit for a .193/.270/.316...

The Pittsburgh Pirates today officially announced the signings of 21st round pick Alex Fuselier, 22nd round pick Mike Jefferson, and 33rd round pick Chris Lashmet.  They also announced the signing of right handed pitcher Joe Parsons, an undrafted free agent from Virginia Tech. The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to terms with 2011 4th round pick Colten Brewer, Pirates Prospects has learned.  Brewer is the highest pick that the Pirates have reached an agreement with, and the third player in the 2011 top ten that has agreed to terms. He is a 6′ 7″ 230 right-handed pitcher out of Pima CC, the same school that produced current Pirates farmhand Donald Veal. Blaine Boyer Released
