Opening Day Payroll Projection

The 2010 40-man roster payroll projection for the opening day roster is now complete.  Thanks to USA Today for the salaries of the league minimum players.  The Pirates are currently projected for a $37,276,750 payroll in 2010.  That number includes the players on the 40-man roster who are not on the 25-man roster, plus the $2 M owed to Ramon Vazquez. Pirates make final cuts, roster set

The Pittsburgh Pirates have made their final cuts and have set their opening day roster, according to Dejan Kovacevic at the PPG.  Steve Pearce was optioned to AAA, while Ramon Vazquez was designated for assignment. The 25-man roster is now set, with D.J.
