Catching up on some minor league transactions… -The Pittsburgh Pirates signed Travis Chick, a right handed pitcher who started the 2010 season in the Los Angeles Angels’ camp before being released and going to Independent ball.  Chick will play in Indianapolis, providing the Indians with pitching depth. -Derek Hankins has been promoted from AA to AAA.  Hankins had a 1.82 ERA this year in 79 innings, pitching mostly out of...

INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS (AAA) GAME STORY Indianapolis lost 3-2 to Charlotte.  Daniel McCutchen pitched eight innings, allowing three runs on six hits, with a walk and no strikeouts, plus two homers allowed.  With Brad Lincoln getting demoted today, McCutchen is expected to rejoin the major league rotation, taking Lincoln’s spot on July 31st.  Brian Bass pitched a shutout inning, allowing two hits and striking out one.
