Rodriguez Designated for Assignment, Ciriaco Recalled

Following up on the waiver claim of Brandon Wood, the Pittsburgh Pirates have designated Josh Rodriguez for assignment, and have recalled Pedro Ciriaco, the team announced today.  As Colin Dunlap mentions, Ciriaco is likely up just to fill the roster spot until Wood arrives with the team. The Pirates have claimed Wood. According to Ken Rosenthal, the Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed Brandon Wood.  The move is not unexpected, as earlier this morning Colin Dunlap mentioned that the Pirates were certain to make a claim on the former Angels’ top prospect.
