2010
R:  1-2-0, 4.74 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 19 IP, 3.3 BB/9, 7.1 K/9

Mostly pitched well in the GCL.  His ERA was high, but his numbers suffered from one terrible outing in which he allowed six earned runs in two-thirds of an inning.

2011
R:  1-3-0, 6.04 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 28.1 IP, 3.5 BB/9, 4.4 K/9 

Returned to the GCL and struggled, allowing a .308 opponents’ batting average and posting a much lower K rate than in 2010.

2012

Trepagnier took a step backward in 2011 and returned to the GCL again.  This time he showed significant improvement, with his fastball velocity increasing to 92-93 at least some of the time.  He also started to show a good slider.  He moved up to State College at the end of the year and got into two games.

2013
A:  5-5-3, 4.95 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, 72.2 IP, 4.8 BB/9, 8.5 K/9

Trepagnier spent the season in the West Virginia bullpen and made progress despite some severe ups and downs.  He got hammered early, giving up a .345 opponents’ average and 9.49 ERA in April.  Much of the damage came in one outing in which he allowed seven runs in an inning and two-thirds.  Starting in early June, though, he had a stretch of 14 outings with a 1.26 ERA.  He started having control problems in July and, after walking only 14 in his first 42.2 IP, he walked 25 in his last 30.  In August his ERA was 8.79 as he walked more than a batter an inning.  Considering that his innings total more than doubled from his previous high, it’s possible that Trepagnier simply wore down.  Overall, he had a ground out to air out ratio of nearly 2-1.  He had a reverse platoon split, allowing an OPS of .765 to right-handed batters and .665 to left-handed batters.

2014
A+:  4-1-9, 2.53 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 53.1 IP, 5.6 BB/9, 6.8 K/9

Trepagnier had an interesting year pitching in relief for Bradenton.  He held opponents to a .190 average and .240 slugging average, allowed only one HR, and gave up far fewer baserunners than in 2013.  On the other hand, his walk and K rates both were much worse, to the point where he didn’t strike out that many more than he walked.  He spent part of the year as the Marauders’ closer, but eventually lost that role to Josh Smith.

It’s hard to say whether Trepagnier’s 2014 season marked continuing progress or not, given the walk and K numbers.  He’s eligible for the Rule 5 draft now, but isn’t likely to be selected.  He should be in the Altoona bullpen in 2015.
