Essentially, the Pirates traded Ronald Uviedo for three non-descript appearances by Eveland. It seems like they simply threw away a minor asset. Zach Duke to the 15-day DL

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Zach Duke on the 15-day disabled list, according to Dejan Kovacevic.  Duke missed his scheduled start yesterday, and apparently wasn’t on track to make the re-scheduled start on Saturday.  Duke will miss two starts with what the Pirates are describing as a strained flexor pronator in his left elbow. Brian Burres sent to Indy, Dana Eveland added to roster

The Pittsburgh Pirates have optioned Brian Burres to Indianapolis, and have added Dana Eveland to the major league roster.  The Pirates have no listed starters for Monday and Tuesday, although it seems like Eveland and Jeff Karstens will fill those spots.
