Pirates trade Octavio Dotel, Javier Lopez

The Pittsburgh Pirates made two moves before the deadline, sending Javier Lopez to the San Francisco Giants, and Octavio Dotel to the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Despite a lot of rumors, Paul Maholm remained with the team through the deadline. Pedro Alvarez Called Up

Some roster moves for today… -The Pittsburgh Pirates placed Steve Pearce on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained ankle, and called up Neil Walker to take his place.  Pearce sprained his ankle trying to catch an errant throw by Delwyn Young last night.
