Jason Grilli Placed on the Disabled List

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed right-handed pitcher Jason Grilli on the 15-day disabled list, retro to April 21st, with a left oblique strain. Jared Hughes has been recalled from Indianapolis to replace Grilli on the roster. With Grilli on the disabled list, Mark Melancon should take over as the team’s closer.
