Dana EvelandI find almost nothing even remotely interesting about Dana Eveland. He is essentially a poor-man’s Zach Duke, without the good control. I have no idea what Neal Huntington sees in him, other than a high ground ball rate. Giving up a prospect with a live arm to acquire him is perplexing.

Pirates trade Ronald Uviedo for Dana Eveland

Earlier today I saw that the Pirates were preparing to claim Dana Eveland from the Toronto Blue Jays.  Eveland had been designated for assignment on May 23rd by the Blue Jays, after posting a 6.45 ERA in 44.2 innings in Toronto’s rotation. UPDATE 3:14 PM: Just noticed a few more roster moves through the system: -Melkin Laureano has been moved from West Virginia to Bradenton, presumably to take Moreno’s spot.
