Prospect Highlights: A.J. Morris, Cole Tucker and More From Thursday’s GCL Game

Today we have multiple highlights from yesterday’s GCL Pirates 10-1 win over the Braves. I’ll briefly go through the players and let the videos do most of the talking, because there are a lot of players here to take a look at. All videos are courtesy of the GCL Pirates fan page. A.J. Prospect Highlights: Two Young Players From Australia Seeing Time With the GCL Pirates

The main guy to watch this year will be 2014 first round pick Cole Tucker, although there are some other promising guys at the same level. Sam Kennelly received $225,000 out of Australia, and started the first two games while Tucker gets ready for his season to begin. Nelson Jorge was taken in the draft this year, and has the skills...

2014 GCL Pirates Season Preview

This GCL team has the most upside of any of the three short-season teams in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ system. The top prospects at the level include first round pick Cole Tucker, and second round picks Mitch Keller and Trey Supak. They also have Michael de la Cruz, who is the top international prospect making the jump from the US this year. That combination gives the GCL team four of the top 20 prospects in the overall system,...
