Signing Bonus Information on Alex McRae and Michael Suchy

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates officially signed fifth round pick Michael Suchy and tenth round pick Alex McRae on Wednesday and today their bonus information was announced. Suchy signed for a $275,000 bonus, which is $16,000 below his slot value. McRae signed for $125,000, which is $12,600 below his slot value. That $28,600 can now be put towards other players that will require over-slot deals.

After signing five players taken in the top ten rounds, Cole Tucker, Mitch Keller, Taylor Gushue, Tyler Eppler and Austin Coley, the Pirates had $59,100 available for over-slot deals. Pitcher Trey Supak has agreed on a contract, though terms on his deal have yet to be announced. The 73rd overall pick is expected to receive a deal over the $772,000 value of his draft spot.
