A Bradenton recap, with photos

Published:

It was an up-and-down weekend for me in Bradenton. On Friday, the weather was beautiful as I headed to McKechnie Field with two friends to see the Pirates host the Red Sox. The Bucs notched the victory, hitting four home runs in the process. Everything was great, other than a seating assignment debacle in the bleachers. (Long story short, the three of us spent a couple of innings condensed into two bleacher seats.) We had another fantastic day on Saturday when we visited Pirate City. I really enjoyed that opportunity to get my first glimpse of many of the Pirate prospects. On Sunday, we made the hour-long drive to Bradenton through an intermittent rainstorm. After sitting in the rain for an hour at McKechnie Field, the game was canceled and we made the hour-long drive back to Tampa.

Below are some photos that I snapped during my visit. I really wish that I would have taken more at Pirate City, but I was simply trying to take in the whole scene that day. There are some additional photos on my Flickr page if anyone would like to see the shots that did not make the cut for this post. Also, I have added a permanent link to that page in the sidebar.
