The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed international right handed pitcher Leandro Rodriguez, according to the Dominican Prospect League website.  Rodriguez was signed out of the league for $80,000.

Rodriguez is 17 years old, and according to the article, was trained by former major leaguer Denio Gonzalez.  The article mentions that he has a loose arm, and projects to be a player to watch.

The Pirates have signed a few players out of the DPL in the last year.  Last year they signed Willy Garcia, Jonathan Herrand, Isaac Sanchez, and Miguel De Aza, spending a combined $795,000 on the four prospects....
