Today, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com released his top 10 prospects for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The list doesn’t come with many surprises:
1. Jameson Taillon
2. Stetson Allie
3. Tony Sanchez
4. Rudy Owens
5. Bryan Morris
6. Luis Heredia
7. Jeff Locke
8. Starling Marte
9. Zack Von Rosenberg
10. Colton Cain
The estimated time arrivals that were given were 2011 for Owens and Morris, 2012 for Sanchez and Locke, 2013 for Taillon and Marte, and 2014 for everyone else.
Mayo listed Evan Chambers and Elias Diaz as under the radar prospects. He also predicted that Sanchez would be the hitter of the year, and Taillon would be the pitcher of the year.
