Lincoln returns to Indy for his first start since making his 2011 ML debut on Saturday.

AAA: Indianapolis (44-45) @ Louisville (49-40) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Brad Lincoln (6-7 4.14)

Brad will get his 1st start since making his 2011 major league debut on Saturday. He has made 14 starts with Indy with his last one coming on June 24th when he gave up 5 runs in 5 innings. He is 2-3 4.91 in five road starts this year and in the month of June he went 2-2 2.84 in four starts. His 72 strikeouts is tied with Justin Wilson for the team lead.

AA: Altoona (37-48) VS Bowie (43-41) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Kyle McPherson (2-2 3.04)

Kyle has started 5 games for Altoona coming into tonight and on the season he has made 17 total starts, tied with Brian Burres for the highest total in the farm system. In his last start he gave up one run in 5 innings and for the 2nd straight start he struck out seven batters. His season totals are 6-3 2.93 with 86 strikeouts in 98.1 innings.

High-A: Bradenton (39-46 overall 9-6 2nd half) VS Lakeland (41-41 overall 5-7 2nd half) 5:05pm
Probable starter: Brett Lorin (3-5 2.90)

Brett will make his 12th start of the year tonight. In his last game he lasted just 3 innings while giving up 8 runs but only two of those runs were earned. He faced Lakeland on May 24th and pitched 6 scoreless innings. Among the 20 starters who have made at least ten starts in the Pirates farm system, Lorin has the highest K/9 rate(9.1) with 69 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched.

Low-A: West Virginia (41-42 overall 6-9 2nd half) @ Hagerstown (49-36 overall 9-6 2nd half) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Colton Cain (5-6 3.14)

Colton is making his 17th start of the year, tops among WV pitchers. In his last start he went 4 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits,one walk and he struck out five. He leads WV in innings pitched (86) strikeouts (66) and WHIP with a 1.00 mark. On the road this year Colton is 3-1 3.03 in seven starts.

Short Season A: State College (5-16) @ Batavia (11-10) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Nick Kingham (0-2 5.29)

Kingham will be making his 5th start of the season tonight. He went 4 innings his last start, allowing 4 earned runs on eight hits with no walks and 4 strikeouts. In his previous two starts combined he gave up just one run in 10 innings with 12 strikeouts. His 17 strikeouts leads all Spikes pitchers.

Rookie: GCL Pirates (10-6) VS GCL Phillies (10-6) 12:00pm

The GCL Pirates are tied with the Phillies and Yankees for 1st place.

VSL: VSL Pirates (27-17) VS VSL Phillies (21-24) 11:30am

The VSL Pirates are in first place and have a 2 1/2 game lead over the 2nd place Mariners.

DSL: DSL Pirates (19-11) VS DSL Dodgers (13-18) 10:30am

The DSL Pirates are in 1st place, tied with the DSL Red Sox

John started working at Pirates Prospects in 2009, but his connection to the Pittsburgh Pirates started exactly 100 years earlier when Dots Miller debuted for the 1909 World Series champions. John was born in Kearny, NJ, two blocks from the house where Dots Miller grew up. From that hometown hero connection came a love of Pirates history, as well as the sport of baseball. When he didn't make it as a lefty pitcher with an 80+ MPH fastball and a slider that needed work, John turned to covering the game, eventually focusing in on the prospects side, where his interest was pushed by the big league team being below .500 for so long. John has covered the minors in some form since the 2002 season, and leads the draft and international coverage on Pirates Prospects. He writes daily on Pittsburgh Baseball History, when he's not covering the entire system daily throughout the entire year on Pirates Prospects.
