The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded right handed pitcher Cesar Valdez to the Florida Marlins for a player to be named later or cash considerations, according to a team press release. Valdez was acquired in the Zach Duke trade over the winter. He had a 3.86 ERA in 42 innings, with a 36:17 K/BB ratio. Valdez had a strong month of May, with a 1.00 ERA in 18 innings, along with a 16:5 K/BB ratio, but has struggled in every other month.
