Game Notes: Nathan Baker hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last three starts, spanning 18 innings.  He has an 18:4 K/BB ratio in that stretch.  Robbie Grossman now has 34 doubles on the year, and is on fire in the month of August, with a .344 average and a 1.022 OPS.  Cole White is also having a good month of August, hitting for a .360/.429/.520 line.  Elevys Gonzalez extended his hitting streak to 13 games.  He’s recorded a hit in all but two games this month, with a .400/.455/.544 line in August.

Game Notes: West Virginia got out to a huge lead, thanks to an eight run fourth inning, making the score 11-2 at the time.  Andy Vasquez hit a solo homer in the third, and a three run shot in the fourth.  Justin Howard is now 7-for-9 in his last two games, and now has 36 doubles on the year.  Eliecer Navarro has made seven starts for West Virginia, with a 3.22 ERA in 36.1 innings, along with a 32:7 K/BB ratio.  Casey Sadler has a 1.71 ERA in 31.2 innings in the second half this year, with a 27:6 K/BB ratio.
