As the 2011 season comes to a close, we will see a lot of roster moves in State College, trying to maximize roster spots. Today, the Spikes transferred Nick Kingham and Cesar Lopez to the GCL Pirates. The move is just a paper move in each case. Kingham made his final start of the year last night, and Lopez pitched two innings. The moves created space for outfielder Willy Garcia and right handed pitcher Logan Pevny to be added to the roster.
