State College center fielder Barrett Barnes, out since August 1 with a lower-leg stress-related injury, remains in limbo. He is currently traveling with the Spikes as they continue a road trip in Batavia. According to State College manager Dave Turgeon, Barnes, the Pirates’ 2012 supplemental first round pick out of Texas Tech, is “out indefinitely.”
“Barrett is out,” Turgeon said. “He is out indefinitely. We will find out for sure on Thursday if it is stress fracture. Right now, we know it is a stress reaction. It’s his lower-shin, ankle area.”
Tyler Gaffney has stepped into the starting center field role in Barnes’ absence.
He’s shown enough to start next year in WV even if he misses the rest of the season.
Does anyone think they would be aggressive like they were with Dickerson and send him to Bradenton?
*to. Dang auto correct.
I could see him going too Bradenton.
I agree.
