In the last week I’ve been getting a few questions about the Pirates Prospects 2013 Annual. The book has been in pre-sale status since the Prospect Guide was released in December. That was to allow people to buy both books at the discounted combo pack price. The book still hasn’t been released yet, but should be coming out in the next week.
Last year the book was released on February 23rd. The date will be a little later this year, due to all of the late moves (Francisco Liriano, Jonathan Sanchez, Brandon Inge). A lot of those made some last-minute impacts to the projections in the book. We just finished those projections this week, and we’re in the final editing stages of the book. We also need to get a few updated photos of some of the new additions over the off-season, which we’re currently getting in Spring Training.
There were also some other factors that delayed the book. I’ve been busy moving down to Bradenton, and working on hiring people for coverage for the 2013 season.
I’m planning to send the book in for publishing this weekend. After that it depends on the publisher. In the past I’ve gotten books back anywhere from three days to a little over a week after I placed the order. That means I could start shipping the book out as early as a week from today.

Tim,
Considering the quality of both books and your efforts to make them and Pirate Prospects the #1 site covering the team’s Prospects the extra wait is worth it.
Now I will be spending the next week or so sitting in the cold and snow/rain by the mail box waiting for my PP Annual to arrive.
