Game Notes: With the Indians short in the starting pitching department, Kyle Waldrop stepped up to make a great spot start. The ground ball specialist had an 11:3 GO/AO ratio, and now has ten shutout innings on the year. Vic Black and Ryan Reid closed out the shutout. Indianapolis only have five hits, and Jordy Mercer had two of those hits. He’s got a .313/.382/.458 line in 48 at-bats so far this year.

Game Notes: Altoona finished yesterday’s suspended game, then Jameson Taillon made his regularly scheduled start and pitched a great game. John Eshleman was covering today’s games, and has a recap of Taillon and the rest of today’s performers. Casey Sadler was the only starter listed today who gave up an earned run, although all of his innings were pitched yesterday.

Game Notes: Nick Kingham bounced back from giving up five runs in 4.2 innings in his last start. He’s only struck out seven or more batters four other times in his career. Gregory Polanco came up big tonight, going 3-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base. Polanco isn’t posting monster numbers, but he’s doing a good job of following up on last year, hitting for a .327/.379/.442 line on the season. Benji Gonzalez has also been impressive at the plate this year. He’s hitting for a .286 average and a .355 on-base percentage. This is also his third season in the FSL.

Game Notes: John Kuchno started off rough in his first two starts, giving up ten earned runs in 7.1 innings. This time around he had much better results. Stetson Allie didn’t homer today, but continued his hitting, and also drew two walks, which is very encouraging. Eric Wood also continued his hot hitting, and now has a .333/.373/.604 line in 48 at-bats.
