Yesterday I mentioned that five draft picks will be going to Bradenton this week to sign deals with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Today I learned that about a dozen players have already agreed to sign, with most officially signing tomorrow. Here are a few more names who will be joining the list.
**17th round pick Justin Topa will be signing tomorrow. Topa is a college senior from Long Island University. He’s a right-hander who throws 91-93, touching 95.
**21st round pick Adam Landecker will also be signing tomorrow. He’s a college senior from USC who plays second base. Landecker had a .351/.401/.480 line this year with USC, with good contact skills and the ability to play all over the infield.
**A commenter on Bucs Dugout, claiming to be a coach of Trae Arbet, says the prep shortstop will be signing this week. Arbet is a very athletic shortstop who has the chance to stick at the position. He also has good bat speed and gap power, but tends to chase pitches out of the strike zone.
