Episode eight of The Pirates Prospects Podcast can be downloaded or streamed below. This episode includes analysis from Tom Bragg (@TomBraggSports) and James Santelli (@JamesSantelli) on the Pirates. Highlights of the show include:
**We looked at the injury to Wandy Rodriguez, and debated whether the Pirates should call up Gerrit Cole. Also, what kind of pitcher will Cole be when he first comes up?
**The offense has been struggling lately, including a one hitter against the Braves. What are some solutions?
**One solution could be upgrading the offense at third base, and maybe the “Platoon Pedro Alvarez” talk will come up later in the year. For now, he’s playing some surprising defense.
**Tom was recording from Appalachian Power Park with West Virginia taking batting practice, giving the sounds of Stetson Allie and Raul Fortunato hitting bombs in the background of the show.
**We talk the new season of Arrested Development and Game of Thrones (we try to avoid spoilers, but Tom does a horrible job with Game of Thrones), which are two shows you have to watch. Also, James talks about how he hates when people say “you have to watch this show”. Except for the Pirates Prospects Podcast, of course. You have to listen to this show.

I suppose this is directed at Tim. I download the podcast on iTunes and then typically listen to it on my mp3 player. The only problem is that it is an mp3 player and cannot read the m4a files. I know that I can use iTunes to convert them to mp3, but it would be more convenient if they were encoded initially as mp3. Thank you!
Unfortunately I have to encode them as m4a files in order to distribute them through our host.
Got it … Thanks !
I am not able to stream this … Anyone else having issues?
I just tried and it’s not working for me. It was working earlier. I just submitted a support ticket to the company that hosts the show.
Thanks, Tim.
It’s working now.
Arrested Development was hilarious! I like Game of Thrones too but I can see how that book/show doesn’t appeal to everyone.
“Also, James talks about how he hates when people say “you have to watch this show”.
I agree…both of those mentioned shows suck…. 🙂
Trust me, it is unrelated to those two.
