The Pittsburgh Pirates have made eight roster cuts this morning, with Opening Day just ten days away. Starter Phil Irwin, first baseman Chris McGuiness and third baseman Brent Morel were optioned to Indianapolis. They have also reassigned infielder Chase d’Arnaud and relief pitchers Cody Eppley, Jake Brigham, Josh Kinney and Yao-Hsun Yang.
