Amazing Performances From Glasnow, Bell, and Sampson This Week

Gorkys Hernandez

Gorkys Hernandez, OF, Indianapolis – 5.45 RC

Stats: 9-for-27, 4 2B, 4 BB

Notes: Hernandez has always had strong defense, but the Pirates liked what they saw from his offense during Spring Training. He has done well in Indianapolis so far this year, with a .291/.390/.395 line in 86 at-bats. He’s probably never going to be a good power hitter, but a guy with his defense who can get on base and provide some speed on the bases gives the Pirates a good outfield depth option, and a potentially valuable player when rosters expand in September.
