The Indianapolis Indians have activated outfielder Jaff Decker from the disabled list and assigned Andy Vasquez to the West Virginia(Morgantown) Black Bears. We had an update on Decker earlier this week, when he was playing games in Extended Spring Training. He said that he hoped to be back to Indianapolis within a week and it ended up being just three days. He injured his hand sliding into home plate and hasn’t played with Indianapolis since April 20th. Decker missed the beginning of the year with a leg injury that occurred during Spring Training.
Andy Vasquez has played with both Indianapolis and Altoona this year and will likely fill a roster spot at either place when one opens up in the infield or outfield.
Also, Willy Garcia returned to the Altoona lineup tonight as a DH. He has been out since last Thursday, when he was hit in the face with a bat and needed to go through concussion tests.
